Lucky Number Seven

Sporting Kansas City hosts the San Jose Earthquakes on Sunday at LIVESTRONG Sporting Park at 3:30pm CT. San Jose currently lead the League in points (27) and wins (8). Fortunately, Sporting KC has quite the track record when playing the Earthquakes at home, going unbeaten and untied in their last eight matches in all competition. During this winning streak, seven of the eight contests were played prior to the fortress that is LIVESTRONG Sporting Park was unvieled. Kansas City's last loss to San Jose was on August 14, 2004 at Arrowhead Stadium.

The six-game regular season winning streak at home is the longest active winning streak that Sporting Kansas City holds against an MLS opponent. In fact, among active teams, San Jose is the only team Sporting KC has a current home winning streak against of more than two games in the regular season. Prior to their exit from MLS, Sporting KC had beaten the Tampa Bay Mutiny in each of the last six home meetings.
