KONRAD WARZYCHA RETURNS FROM LOAN WITH CAROLINA RAILHAWKS

Sporting Kansas City defender Konrad Warzycha has returned from his loan spell with the Carolina Railhawks of the North American Soccer League. Warzycha made one appearance for the RailHawks, entering as a second-half substitute in the team's match against the San Antonio Scorpions on September 8 at WakeMed Soccer Park.

Warzycha played the full 90 minutes in Sporting Kansas City's 1-0 loss to Real Salt Lake in Reserve League play yesterday at the Sporting Club Training Center in Swope Park.

JIMMY NIELSEN RECEIVES GREEN CARD

Goalkeeper Jimmy Nielsen has received his Green Card and will no longer occupy an international roster spot on Sporting Kansas City's roster. Now in his third season with Sporting KC, Nielsen has appeared in 87 MLS matches (including postseason) and leads the League with 11 shutouts in the 2012 season.

Sporting Kansas City now has five of the team's seven available international roster spots occupied with the following players designated as internationals: Korede Aiyegbusi, Aurelien Collin, Peterson Joseph, Neven Markovic and Oriol Rosell.

SPORTING KC RESERVES FALL 1-0 TO REAL SALT LAKE

Sporting Kansas City fell 1-0 to Real Salt Lake in Reserve League action at the Sporting Club Training Center in Swope Park on Tuesday. The lone goal was scored off of a converted penalty kick from Emiliano Bonfigli in the 61st minute.

With the loss, Sporting Kansas City’s record in MLS Reserve League action moves to 2-5-2, while Real Salt Lake’s record improves to 2-5-1.

Sporting Kansas City will travel to FC Dallas Stadium to face FC Dallas at 7:30 p.m. CT on September 25 in the team's Reserve League finale. Real Salt Lake will host the Houston Dynamo at 11 a.m. CT at America First Field.

SPORTING KC WELL REPRESENTED DURING INTERNATIONAL MATCHES

Graham Zusi (United States), Roger Espinoza (Honduras), Kei Kamara (Sierra Leone) and Peterson Joseph (Haiti) all enjoyed standout performances with their respective national teams during the FIFA international match dates.

Zusi played arguably his best game with the United States Men's National Team last night against Jamaica in a World Cup Qualifying match. The midfielder was praised for his attacking qualities and nearly scored with a shot off the crossbar in the opening minutes.

Espinoza assisted on the game-winning goal in Honduras' 1-0 win over Cuba last night while Kamara played the full 90 minutes in Sierra Leone's 2-2 draw with Tunisia on Sept. 8 in the first leg of the Leone Stars’ African Cup of Nations qualifier.

Joseph started three matches for Haiti in Caribbean Championship qualifying as Haiti defeated Saint Martin 7-0 on Sept. 7, Bermuda 3-1 on Sept. 9 and Puerto Rico 2-1 on Sept. 11.
KAMARA NOMINATED FOR COURAGE IN SPORTS HONOR ON CBS

Sporting KC forward Kei Kamara, a refugee of Sierra Leone, is nominated for the America’s Choice Honoree for Courage in Sports. The America’s Choice Honoree, determined by fan voting, recognizes individuals who have overcome monumental challenges to achieve greatness in the world of sports. The winner will be announced on a one-hour “Courage in Sports” special airing at 4 p.m. CT on Nov. 11 on CBS.

Eight inspiring individuals have been selected to participate in the Facebook voting. Each week, the two athletes with the lowest vote total will be eliminated from the competition. Fans can vote once per day and share their vote with friends here: facebook.com/CourageInSports. The top two vote getters will compete in the finals from Sept. 24 to Oct. 1.

VOTE FOR JIMMY NIELSEN TO BE ON DOWNLOADABLE COVER OF FIFA 13

EA Sports, the award winning developer of sports video games, is creating a downloadable game cover for FIFA 13 to show their support of Major League Socer. To determine which MLS players will appear on that cover, EA Sports is polling MLS fans to choose the three remaining spots on the game cover. The three clubs whose candidates receive the most votes will join the top-ranked player on MLSSoccer.com's 3rd annual "24 under 24" list and the downloadable cover will be revealed at the launch party in New York City on September 24.

Plus, fans who participate in the voting will be automatically entered to win two tickets to the Sideline FIFA Lounge at the 2012 MLS Cup.

Voting runs through September 15. Sporting Kansas City's representative is Jimmy Nielsen. Follow this link to vote for the White Puma.
