All four teams in the Sporting Kansas City Academy have begun their 2012-13 seasons this month. The U12 and U14 Academy teams were in action at the Fall 2012 Scouting Showcase on Sept. 8 and 9 in Rockford, Ill. The U12's are playing up one year in the Midwest Developmental League and drew 2-2 with Vardar U13 before falling against Chicago Magic PSG U13. The U14's opened the weekend with a 2-0 loss to Vardar U14 but rebounded with a 1-1 draw against Chicago Magic PSG U14 on Sunday. Both teams will host St. Louis Scott Gallagher - Metro and St. Louis Scott Gallagher - Missouri this weekend at the Sporting Club Training Center in Swope Park in their first league games in the Gateway division.

The U16 and U18 Academy teams kicked off the U.S. Soccer Development Academy season on Saturday at Swope with a pair of victories over the Colorado Rush. The U18's secured a 3-0 triumph with two goals from Cole Stevenson and a goal from the team's leading scorer last season, Eduardo Moreno. Jacole Turner recorded the clean sheet in net for the U18's. The U16's followed suit with a 2-0 win courtesy of a shutout from Ryan Krutz and the game-winning goal from Dakota Karns in the 67th minute.

Both USSDA partcipants continue play in the Central Conference's Frontier Division as they  go on the road this weekend to face Classics Elite on Saturday and Lonestar SC Academy on Sunday.
