Academy goes 4-for-4 in USSDA

As summer turned to fall on Saturday, the Sporting Kansas City Academy was in full swing with eight games over the weekend. The under-16 and under-18 Academy teams were in Texas for their first road games in the 2012-13 U.S. Soccer Development Academy season and returned with the maximum points, securing wins in all four matches.


Conversely, the under-12 and under-14 Academy teams hosted their first home matches of the NPL season against cross-state rivals St. Louis Scott Gallagher at the Sporting Club Training Center in Swope Park. Check out the results below...


Under-18
Through three games, the U18's have three wins and are off to an early lead in the Central Conference's Frontier Division. Jon Parry's squad is coming off a successful showing in Texas where they were 4-1 winners over Classics Elite on Saturday and 3-0 winners over Lonestar SC Academy on Sunday. Eduardo Moreno led all players with three goals(giving him four on the season), while Cole Stevenson added his third of the year and Paul Dean, Isai Gutierrez and Mauro Hipolito each contributed a goal.


Under-16
Like their U18 travel partners, the U16's also sit atop the Frontier Division with a perfect 3-0-0 record to start the campaign. The team picked up a 3-1 win over Classics Elite on Saturday and followed that with a 5-2 victory at Lonestar SC Academy. With eight goals on the weekend, Memo Carrasco, Dakota Karns and Tucker Stephenson each scored a goal in both games, while Cole McLagan and Logan Lucas were also on Sunday's scoresheet. The U16's and U18's will next face Andromeda FC on Saturday, October 6th at the Sporting Club Training Center in Swope Park.


Under-14
After falling 1-0 on Saturday to SLSG-Metro, the U14's rebounded for their first point of the NPL season on Sunday with a scoreless draw against SLSG-Missouri under the direction of head coach Matt Trumpp.


Under-12
Playing up one year in the U13 division, the U12's earned an emphatic 4-1 victory over St. Louis Scott Gallagher - Metro on Saturday before dropping the weeked finale against SLSG-Missouri on Sunday. The U12's, coached by Tom Howe, and U14's will continue the NPL season on Saturday, October 6th against Springfield SC and Sunday, October 7th against TSC Hurricane. All four games will be played at home at the Sporting Club Training Center in Swope Park.
