Sports Radio 810 WHB to air Sporting KC matches in Eastern Conference Semifinals

Sporting Kansas City’s two matches in the Eastern Conference Semifinals will air live on Sports Radio 810 WHB, the club announced Tuesday. The station, America’s largest all-sports radio station and Kansas City’s ESPN Radio affiliate, will offer pre-game and post-game coverage live for both legs of the conference semifinals.

Play-by-play commentator Callum Williams and color analyst Jake Yadrich will call all the action from Sporting Kansas City’s opening match of the 2012 MLS Cup Playoffs on Sunday, Nov. 4. Coverage on Sports Radio 810 WHB begins at 2:00 p.m. CT and fans will also be able to listen live online at 810whb.com or via the free Sports Radio 810 mobile app.

The return leg at 8:00 p.m. CT on Wednesday, Nov. 7 at LIVESTRONG Sporting Park will be broadcast in its entirety along with an hour-long pre-game and post-game show hosted by Dave Borchardt and Andy Edwards. Additionally, Todd Leabo and Nate Bukaty will be appearing live from the LSP Members’ Club from 2:00-6:00 p.m. CT during Between the Lines with Kevin Kietzman.

On Monday, Sporting Kansas City released standing-room only tickets for the team's home playoff match on Nov. 7 at LIVESTRONG Sporting Park. A limited number of seats are still available for the decisive second leg in the Eastern Conference Semifinals and can be purchased online at Ticketmaster.com or at the LSP Box Offices.

Sporting Kansas City’s Quest for the Cup, presented by Budweiser, marks the second straight season that Sports Radio 810 WHB has carried the Eastern Conference Semifinals. The official radio home of Sporting Kansas City, Sports Radio 810 WHB aired seven Sporting Kansas City matches during the 2012 season and added The Final Whistle: Sporting KC Postgame show after the team’s home matches this year.

A special playoff edition of The Sporting KC Show will air at 7:00 p.m. CT tonight, live from the KC Cauldron playoff rally at Crossroads KC at Grinders (417 E. 18th Street, Kansas City, MO). The weekly radio show has been available on Sports Radio 810 WHB since its start in 2010.

Sporting Kansas City supporters are encouraged to attend the playoff rally, which will officially kick off at 8 p.m. CT with Bukaty serving as the emcee. Sporting Kansas City players will be in attendance and admission is free for all ages. Doors open at 6 p.m. CT and there will be random prizes given away throughout the rally, including a grand prize drawing for 2013 Sporting Kansas City Season Tickets.
