MLS Fantasy Soccer: Manager 2013

MLS Fantasy Soccer: Manager 2013 -

Major League Soccer launched MLS Fantasy Soccer: Manager 2013 on Thursday with the winner of the overall league scoring a trip for two to the 2014 MLS All-Star Game. You'll be going to the
2013 MLS All-Star Game anyways, right
?

MLS Fantasy Soccer: Manager is a traditional salary cap game that allots $100 million to spend on players and you can pick any player in MLS to be on your team. Click here for all the details, but we suspect what Sporting KC fans really want to know is...which boys in blue should you select for your squad?

We're not in the business of telling you how to manage your team (you should probably check with Sporting KC Performance Analyst Rui Xu for those types of tips or follow @MLSFantasy), but here's the breakdown in terms of salary cap hits and total points accumulated last season for Sporting KC's roster.

<span style="font-size:10px;"><strong>&nbsp; GOALKEEPERS</strong></span>
<span style="font-size:10px;"><strong>&nbsp; DEFENDERS</strong></span>
<span style="font-size:10px;"><strong>&nbsp; MIDFIELDERS</strong></span>
<span style="font-size:10px;"><strong>&nbsp; FORWARDS</strong></span>
<span style="font-size:10px;">Jimmy Nielsen - 6 (175)</span>
<span style="font-size:10px;">Matt Besler - 6.0 (179)</span>
<span style="font-size:10px;">Graham Zusi - 9.5 (208)</span>
<span style="font-size:10px;">Kei Kamara - 9.5 (169)</span>
<span style="font-size:10px;">Eric Kronberg - 4.5 (0)</span>
<span style="font-size:10px;">Aurelien Collin - 6.0 (179)</span>
<span style="font-size:10px;">Benny Feilhaber - 8.0 (84)</span>
<span style="font-size:10px;">C.J. Sapong - 9.0 (107)</span>
<span style="font-size:10px;">Jon Kempin - 4.0 (0)</span>
<span style="font-size:10px;">Seth Sinovic - 6.0 (159)</span>
<span style="font-size:10px;">Jacob Peterson - 6.5 (61)</span>
<span style="font-size:10px;">Teal Bunbury - 8.0 (59)</span>
<span style="font-size:10px;">Chance Myers - 5.5 (137)</span>
<span style="font-size:10px;">Paulo Nagamura - 6.0 (60)</span>
<span style="font-size:10px;">Soony Saad - 6.5 (14)</span>
<span style="font-size:10px;">Lawrence Olum - 4.5 (58)</span>
<span style="font-size:10px;">Bobby Convey - 7.5 (49)</span>
<span style="font-size:10px;">Dom Dwyer - 6.5 (2)</span>
<span style="font-size:10px;">Ike Opara - 5.0 (41)</span>
<span style="font-size:10px;">Peterson Joseph - 6.5 (18)</span>
<span style="font-size:10px;">Claudio Bieler - 9.0 (0)</span>
<span style="font-size:10px;">Josh Gardner - 4.5 (11)</span>
<span style="font-size:10px;">Oriol Rosell - 6.5 (18)</span>
<span style="font-size:10px;">Kevin Ellis - 4.0 (0)</span>
<span style="font-size:10px;">Michael Thomas - 6.0 (12)</span>
<span style="font-size:10px;">Yann Songo&#39;o - 5.0 (0)</span>
<span style="font-size:10px;">Kyle Miller - 4.0 (0)</span>
<span style="font-size:10px;">Mikey Lopez - 5.5 (0)</span>

My two cents (well, $21 million actually): MLS Goalkeeper of the Year Jimmy Nielsen worth every penny for shutouts, Chance Myers pays more than just defensive dividends (7 assists in 2012) at a measly $5.5 million and go with Graham Zusi if you've got the cash to splash.
