Sports Radio 810 WHB to simulcast Sporting KC season opener on Saturday

In addition to airing live in HD on KCWE-TV, Sporting Kansas City's opening match of the 2013 MLS season will be simulcast live on Sports Radio 810 WHB. Sporting Kansas City kicks off the team's 18th season at 3 p.m. CT on Saturday at the Philadelphia Union and fans can hear the match live on the radio, via the web at 810whb.com or through the station's mobile app.


Sports Radio 810 WHB, the team's official radio broadcast partner, will also air The Final Whistle: Sporting KC Postgame show on Saturday immediately following the simulcast. Hosts Dave Borchardt and Andy Edwards will be going live from inside the Boulevard Members Club at the team's official Watch Party. In addition to Saturday's simulcast, Sports Radio 810 WHB is scheduled to broadcast each of Sporting Kansas City's five nationally televised (English language only) home matches in 2013, including a 30-minute pre-game show.


The station -- with a listening audience that includes the states of Missouri, Kansas, Iowa, Nebraska and Oklahoma - has grown to become one of the largest and most listened to sports radio stations in the country since its formation in 1999 and has will carry Sporting Kanas City matches for a third straight season in 2013.
