Kamara, Espinoza meet in EPL on Saturday

Kamara, Espinoza meet in EPL on Saturday -

In January, Sporting KC was the only club in the world to send more than one player to the English Premier League during the transfer window with Kei Kamara joining Norwich City on loan through May 6 and Roger Espinoza signing with Wigan Athletic. The two former teammates will face off at 10 a.m. CT on Saturday at The DW Stadium, live on foxsoccer2go.com and tape delayed on FOX Soccer Plus at 12 p.m. CT.

Both players are returning from international duty after representing their countries in World Cup Qualifying. Kamara captained Sierra Leone in a 2-1 loss at Tunisia on Saturday while Espinoza started in a pair of matches for Honduras, drawing Mexico 2-2 and falling 2-0 at Panama. Espinoza will be featured in Wigan's official matchday program tomorrow:

Roger Espinoza gives a fascinating insight into his upbringing; how he didn’t meet his father properly until the age of 11, progressing through the US College system and unknowingly beginning his affinity with Wigan Athletic back in 2005.

Espinoza has an assist in eight games for the Latics, while Kamara has one goal and one assist in five EPL appearances.

The showdown comes four days after five current and/or former KC players (Graham Zusi, Matt Besler, Herculez Gomez, Eddie Johnson and Omar Bravo) took the field in the USA-Mexico FIFA World Cup Qualifier on Tuesday at Estadio Azteca. Besler received the highest rating in the U.S. Soccer Castrol Index, released yesterday, for his performance in the 0-0 draw.
