Sporting Kansas City U16 Academy defender Erik Palmer-Brown started for the United States Under-16 National Team on Saturday in the Caspian Cup, as the U.S. fell 2-1 to hosts Azerbaijan. The U.S. rebounded today with a 2-0 victory over Bulgaria and will next face Uzbekistan in the tournament finale.

Palmer-Brown -- a Lee's Summit, Mo. native -- is one of 18 players on the U.S. roster led by U.S. U-17 MNT assistant coach Jim Rooney and one of eight to have recently finished the 2013 Spring Residency semester at the U.S. Under-17 Residency Program in Bradenton, Fla.

Following the completion of the Caspian Cup, Palmer-Brown will re-join the Sporting KC U16's for the U.S. Soccer Development Academy Showcase later this month at FC Dallas Park in Frisco, Texas.
