Sporting Kansas City midfielder Mikey Lopez played the final 27 minutes in the United States Under-20 Men's National Team's 3-1 victory over the Portugal U-20's on Friday at Municipal Stadium in Vila Real Santo Antonio, Portugal. Both teams will kick off the FIFA U-20 World Cup next week in Turkey with the U.S. opening with Spain at 1 p.m. CT on Friday in Istanbul, live on ESPN2 and Univision Deportes.
"Today we played an excellent team and our team responded well, and we got a big win," said head coach Tab Ramos. "I think this gives us momentum and some confidence going into the World Cup."
