Scouting Report: Sporting KC vs New England Revolution -

Sporting KC will face the New England Revolution at Sporting Park on Saturday night. Both teams are battling for playoff positioning with Sporting KC a few points behind New York and New England just behind fifth place Houston.

Team News

Two players, Juan Agudelo and Gabe Latigue, are unavailable for New England due to injuries. The injury to Agudelo is significant as he's been a key contributor to the club since arriving in a trade with Chivas USA. The other possibly absence is Clyde Simms who was listed as questionable on this week's injury report. New England recently announced the signing of Charlie Davies but he will not be available for this weekend's match.

Recent Form/Results

The Revolution have been a streaky team this season. After a victory to start the season, New England went on a five match winless streak but then followed that up by going unbeaten in seven of their next eight matches. Recently, New England have shown a steady climb up the standings but did lose 1-0 to Toronto FC last weekend. It's a team that has been strong defensively and is expected to be in contention a  playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.

Key Players

Lee Nguyen (M) - A creative attacking midfielder who has started 21 of 22 matches for the Revolution

Diego Fagundez (F) - The 18-year old Homegrown Player leads New England with seven goals

Jose Goncalves (D) - The defender has helped lead a backline that has conceded a league low 20 goals
