USAvMEX: Zusi & US aim for World Cup spot -

Sporting Kansas City midfielder

is no stranger to the USA-Mexico rivalry, which will write a new chapter tonight when the U.S. Men's National Team hosts their CONCACAF foes in FIFA World Cup Qualifying at 7 p.m. CT tonight at Crew Stadium in Columbus, Ohio. Zusi has twice taken the field against El Tri in his 15 career international appearances, first as a second-half substitute in the team's historic 1-0 win at Estadio Azteca in August 2012 and then as a starter in March's scoreless draw on Mexico's famed home field.

Zusi has played a pivotal role for head coach Jurgen Klinsmann during the United States road to Brazil, appearing in nine of the team's last 10 qualifiers, and the U.S. could secure their berth in the 2014 FIFA World Cup tonight. A victory for the United States combined with a win or tie for Honduras at home against Panama would clinch passage for the U.S. MNT to their seventh straight World Cup.

If not tonight? The United States next opportunity would come October 11 at Sporting Park in Kansas City, Kan.

Tonight's #USAvMEX match can be seen live on ESPN, WatchESPN and UniMas. The KC Cauldron and American Outlaws-Kansas City will be hosting a watch party at Johnny's Tavern in the Kansas City Power & Light District.
