Dom Dwyer nominated for MLS Goal of the Week

Dom Dwyer - Sporting KC at Colorado Rapids- March 29, 2014

Sporting Kansas City forward Dom Dywer has been nominated for AT&T MLS Goal of the Week for his 92nd-minute goal in Saturday's 3-2 victory at Colorado.

Dwyer entered Saturday's match in the 83rd minute, replacing Claudio Bieler, and helped provide a spark to the Sporting KC attack. The goal started with a Benny Feilhaber pass to Graham Zusi who found Dwyer at the edge of the 18-yard box. Dwyer took a few touches towards goal before sending a perfectly placed shot just under the crossbar and past the goalkeeper. Dwyer now has a game-winning goal in consecutive matches.

The Sporting KC forward's goal is one of five nominees for the weekly award alongside Montreal's Marco Di Vaio, Columbus' Justin Meram, New York's Peguy Luyindula, and Real Salt Lake's Alvaro Saborio. It's Dwyer's first career nomination for the award and first for Sporting KC in the 2014 season.
