The Confederation of North, Central America and Caribbean Association Football announced on Wednesday that Sporting KC is one of eight clubs placed in Pot 1 for tonight's 2014-15 CONCACAF Champions League draw.

The event will sort the 24 clubs set to participate in the 2014/15 edition of the CONCACAF Champions League into eight groups of three teams. Per CONCACAF Champions League Regulations “two or more teams from the same Member Association will not play in the same Group, and the four USA and four Mexican teams will be drawn into separate Groups.”

Sporting Kansas City qualified for the 2014-15 CONCACAF Champions League as MLS Cup 2013 champions and will compete in the tournament for the second straight season. Manager Peter Vermes' squad advanced from the group stage during the 2013-14 CCL tournament before falling to eventual champions Cruz Azul (MEX) in the quarterfinals earlier this year.
