Benny Feilhaber was named to MLSsoccer.com’s Team of the Week for the second straight time on Tuesday. The Sporting Kansas City midfielder led all players with 33 successful passes and four interceptions in Saturday’s 2-1 victory at Toronto FC. He was also involved in the buildup to Graham Zusi’s 48th-minute goal, keeping the ball alive inside the penalty area.
Zusi earned Team of the Week honors from Bleacher Report after producing a Goal of the Week nominee to kick-start a second half comeback. The United States international contributed a team-high four key passes as Sporting KC improved to 15-0-1 when he scores an MLS goal and extended its road winning streak to five games.
Sports Illustrated’s MLS Best XI of Week 20 included defender Aurelien Collin, who led all players with 11 clearances and 12 aerial duels and helped prevent Toronto FC from cashing in on their man advantage during the final quarter-hour.
