Fall campaign kicks off for Recycle Your Game

Recycle Your Game

Sporting Kansas City, The Victory Project and the Sporting Club Network presented by Price Chopper have kicked off the Fall 2014 campaign for Recycle Your Game. Throughout the month of October, fans will have the opportunity to donate new or gently-used soccer equipment in an effort to provide youth in under-served communities with the means to play the beautiful game.

The Recycle Your Game campaign debuted in April, providing more than 60 youth players in need with proper equipment. These players, selected from El Padrino Premier Soccer League, attended a clinic at Soccer Nation in Wyandotte County featuring Sporting Kansas City players and coaches. Thanks to the support of KCP&L, the presenting partner of El Padrino, each participant was able to go home with a cinch bag, soccer ball and a pair of donated cleats.

Fans will have numerous opportunities at various locations to donate their gear throughout the month of October and, in exchange, will be rewarded with a coupon for 10% off of merchandise at any Sporting Style location at Sporting Park. In addition to select Sporting Club Network events throughout the metro area this month, fans are encouraged to donate at the following events/locations:

  • Friday, Oct. 10 at Sporting Park (#SKCvCHI): collection points outside the Boulevard Members Club and on the Sprint Plaza
  • Sporting Kansas City’s downtown offices: 1511 Baltimore Avenue, Kansas City, MO 64108
  • KCP&L’s downtown offices: 1200 Main Street, Kansas City, MO 64105
  • Sporting Blue Valley office at the Overland Park Soccer Complex: 13700 Switzer Road, Overland Park, KS 66221

At the end of this month, The Victory Project and the Sporting Club Network will host a clinic, presented by KCP&L, to distribute the donated equipment to players in need. To learn more about the Recycle Your Game campaign, follow The Victory Project and the Sporting Club Network on Twitter.
