The Sporting Kansas City Under-16 and Under-18 Academy teams lit up the scoreboard on Saturday with season-high scoring outbursts en route to back-to-back wins over the San Antonio Scorpions Youth Academy at Swope Soccer Village. The U18's opened the U.S. Soccer Development Academy doubleheader with a 7-1 victory, followed by the U16's 5-2 triumph to sweep the first of two meetings during the 2014/15 season.

Under-18 forward Daniel Salloi -- a member of the Hungarian youth national team and currently a foreign exchange student at Blue Valley Northwest High School -- netted a hat trick (7', 37', 70') on Saturday to give him a team-high nine goals on the season, second most among all players in the Central Conference. The U18's (6-7-2) also received goals from Nic Jaimes (12'), Alexis Quevedo (18'), Zane Moxley (40') and Ryan Kellogg (49').

After a slow start to the campaign, the Under-16's (2-6-7) remained unbeaten in 2015 as Adam Collinsworth scored twice (19', 42') while Ezra Armstrong (30'), Jaylin Lindsey (31') and Patrick Wilkinson (75') each recorded their first goals of the season. The squad has now received goals from 13 different players in 15 games; only Central Conference leaders FC Dallas have more (15).

Both teams will return to U.S. Soccer Development Academy action on Sunday, Feb. 22 against Andromeda FC at Swope Soccer Village (6310 Lewis Rd.) in Kansas City, Missouri.

In the interim, the U16's will participate in the second phase of the 2014-15 Generation adidas Cup from Feb. 13-16 at the Houston Sports Park in Texas. The U16's currently lead the Central Region standings with six points after wins from their first two games against the Chicago Fire and Houston Dynamo in October.
