Sporting Kansas City returns home to host the Portland Timbers at 7:30 p.m. CT on Saturday at Sporting Park. A limited number of tickets are available for the Western Conference match-up and can be purchased online at Ticketmaster.com or at the stadium box offices on gameday. The match will air live locally on KMCI-TV 38 the Spot and across the Midwest on SKCTV with 30 minutes of pre-game and post-game coverage.

Today is the deadline for bid proposals from prospective host cities for the Copa America Centenario USA 2016. Kansas City's Arrowhead Stadium is in contention to be one of the 8-13 stadiums selected as sites for the 16-team international soccer tournament to be held across the United States in June 2016. Winning cities will be announced in May.

Sporting KC has advanced to the Round of 16 in KCSourceLink's annual Battle of the Brands and voting is available online until 4 p.m. CT on Tuesday. The team is positioned in the "Second Stage" portion of the 64-brand bracket and is currently paired against FindItKC in the "Scrappy 16." Sporting Kansas City finished runners-up in last year's edition of the competition, designed to shine the spotlight on KC entrepreneurship.

Also on Tuesday, a new edition of The Sporting KC Show will air from 7-8 p.m. CT on Sports Radio 810 WHB. Listeners can join the discussion with Dave Borchardt, Andy Gruenebaum and Carter Augustine by calling 913-3-810-810 and those outside of KC are encouraged to tune in via 810whb.com or the station's free mobile app.

Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. CT on Thursday via Ticketmaster.com for the 2015 CONCACAF Gold Cup doubleheader to be played on July 13 at Sporting Park. The U.S. Men's National Team will take on Panama at 8:30 p.m. CT in the Group A finale, preceded by Haiti versus Honduras or French Guiana at 6 p.m. CT.

All tickets provide entry to both matches with prices starting at $35 for general admission seating in the South Stand or Members Stand. Sporting Kansas City Season Ticket Members have access to an exclusive pre-sale until 10 a.m. CT on Thursday.

Voting ends Friday for the National Soccer Hall of Fame Class of 2015 elections. Ballots were announced last month for the Player, Veteran Player and Builder categories including four former Kansas City players:

Player Ballot: Jimmy Conrad (2003-10), Chris Henderson (1999-2000), Chris Klein (1998-2005)
Veteran Player Ballot: Mike Burns (2001-02)

Established in 1950, the National Soccer Hall of Fame has inducted several individuals with KC ties. Peter Vermes became the first Sporting Kansas City player or manager elected from the Veteran ballot in 2013. Former Managers Bob Gansler (2011) and Ron Newman (1992) were each inducted from the Builder ballot, while former Kansas City players Tony Meola (2012), Preki (2010) and Alexi Lalas (2006) were voted into the Hall of Fame on the Player ballot.
