  • Sporting Kansas City defeated the Houston Dynamo 3-1 on Tuesday night at Sporting Park with goals from Benny Feilhaber, Dom Dwyer and Krisztian Nemeth.
  • The victory was Sporting KC's ninth consecutive win at Sporting Park, a club record, and 300th win across all competitions.
  • Sporting Kansas City had just three days rest after defeating the Montreal Impact 2-1 on Saturday night at Sporting Park. 
  • Sporting KC Manager Peter Vermes made two changes to the starting lineup that defeated Montreal with Chance Myers and Connor Hallisey replacing Saad Abdul-Salaam and Jacob Peterson. 
  • Sporting KC has faced the Houston Dynamo 17 times since the start of 2011, more than any other MLS opponent (6-4-7 record). 
  • Sporting Kansas City is 9-3-1 all-time in the U.S. Open Cup at Sporting Park, while the Dynamo are 2-6-1 on the road in the tournament.

  • Dom Dwyer scored the game-winner on Tuesday. Krisztian Nemeth and Amadou Dia tallied assists on the goal.
  • With the goal on Tuesday, Dwyer now has five goals in U.S. Open Cup competition -- tied for the most in club history along with Davy Arnaud, C.J. Sapong and Igor Simutenkov. 
  • Dwyer now has 11 goals across all competition in 2015, most on the team.
  • Dwyer has scored in each of his last five matches against the Dynamo beginning with his game-winner in the 2013 Eastern Conference Championship.

  • Nemeth added a third goal for Sporting KC in the 86th minute on Tuesday. Dwyer and Espinoza earned assists on the goal.
  • The goal was Nemeth's third in USOC competition, moving the Hungarian striker into a tie for seventh on the club's all-time chart along with Graham Zusi, Kei Kamara, Teal Bunbury and Ivan Trujillo.
  • Nemeth now has 10 goals across all competition in 2015.
  • Sporting KC was without U.S. MNT winger Zusi (Gold Cup), while Jalil Anibaba (quad) and Seth Sinovic (concussion) remain sidelined due to injuries.
  • The Dynamo were without Giles Barnes and DaMarcus Beasley (Gold Cup) in addition to the injured Jermaine Taylor and Boniek Garcia.

  • Dwyer missed the penalty kick on Tuesday night. Dwyer scored seven penalty kicks for Sporting KC in 2014.

  • The Sporting Kansas City Academy U-15s also earned a victory on Tuesday, defeating South Carolina United 5-2 in their first match at the USYS National Championships in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
