Sporting Kansas City hosts the San Jose Earthquakes on Wednesday in the club's fourth of five matches during a 15-day span. The mid-week match will kick off at 7:30 p.m. CT on KMCI-TV's 38 the Spot, with pregame coverage beginning at 7 p.m. CT. Additional coverage is available on Sports Radio 810 WHB and La Grande 1340 AM.

A limited number of tickets are still available for Wednesday's Western Conference clash and can be purchased at Ticketmaster.com or at the Sporting Park box offices on gameday. 


Sporting KC is unbeaten during the month of August and enters with a three-game winning streak. Most recently, Sporting KC knocked off the Western Conference's top team in a thrilling 4-3 victory over the Vancouver Whitecaps on Saturday. Paulo Nagamura's late brace saw Sporting KC come back from a two-goal deficit after the 80th minute for the first time in club history and second time in MLS history. 

Sporting Kansas City is undefeated at home in 2015, a span of 16-consecutive matches in all competion. The Earthquakes are on a four-game road losing streak in MLS action and have lost on each of their previous 10 visits to Kansas City in all competitions dating back to 2004.

San Jose secured a 1-0 victory against the Colorado Rapids at Avaya Stadium on Friday. Veteran defender Clarence Goodson scored the game-winning goal in the 53rd minute, snapping a six-game winless streak for the Quakes. 


Quincy Amarikwa, who tallied the assist on Goodson's goal, has a goal (4) or an assist (1) in five of his six appearances since returning to San Jose in a trade with the Chicago Fire. San Jose head coach Dominic Kinnear will be missing Jordan Stewart, who suffered a season-ending Achilles injury in Friday's game.

Roger Espinoza will not be available for Sporting KC on Wednesday while recovering from a tibial sesamoid fracture in his left foot, however the World Cup veteran will be available to fans. The first 10,000 ticket holders inside the Sporting Park gates will receive an Espinoza poster courtesy of match sponsor Park University and Espinoza will personally sign posters on the Sprint Plaza from 6:30 - 7:15 p.m. CT.
