SPORTING KC UNVEILS TEAM’S SECONDARY JERSEY
Sporting KC unveiled its new secondary jersey in a television spot that debuted Sunday during Super Bowl 50, launching the club's "All for the City" marketing campaign for the 2016 season. The secondary kit will be available to purchase beginning March 3 at 6 p.m. CT when Sporting KC hosts an official fan event at No Other Pub, a new entertainment venue located on the second level of the Kansas City Live! Block in the Power & Light District (1370 Grand Blvd.). (Full story)


SPORTING KC ENDS FIRST LEG OF PRESEASON WITH DRAW
Sporting KC closed the first leg of preseason last Sunday with a 0-0 draw against South Korean side Seongnam FC in Tucson, Arizona. The team is back in Kansas City this week and will return to Tucson this Sunday for the 2016 Desert Diamond Cup, a four-game preseason tournament that runs from Feb. 17-27. (Full story)


ROGER ESPINOZA JOINS HONDURAS FOR TONIGHT’S FRIENDLY
Sporting KC midfielder Roger Espinoza has joined the Honduras Men’s National Team for an international friendly against Guatemala tonight at 8 p.m. CT. Espinoza will be in contention for his first cap since last March as the CONCACAF nations square off at Estadio Nacional Mateo Flores in Guatemala City. (Full story)


BESLER AND DE JONG GO HEAD-TO-HEAD AS U.S. BEATS CANADA
Two Sporting KC defenders went head-to-head on Friday as Matt Besler and the United States defeated Marcel de Jong and Canada 1-0 in an international friendly at StubHub Center in Carson, California. Besler played the full match while de Jong started and lasted 85 minutes in a contest that was decided by Jozy Altidore's 89th-minute header following a cross from Ethan Finlay. (Full story)


SPORTING KC TO ENTER 2016 OPEN CUP IN FOURTH ROUND
U.S. Soccer announced the schedule and format for the 2016 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup on Friday. Defending champion Sporting KC will enter this year’s tournament with 16 other MLS clubs in the fourth round, set for June 15. (Full story)


SWOPE PARK RANGERS LAUNCH NEW SEASON TICKET SPECIAL
The Swope Park Rangers have launched a new season ticket special, where fans who purchase two adult season tickets will have the option of receiving up to two child season tickets free of charge. The family-friendly offer applies to children ages 12 and under. (Full story)


UNFORK FOR A CAUSE CHARITY EVENT SET FOR MARCH 24
Sporting KC defender Seth Sinovic’s 2016 Uncork for a Cause charity program will kick off March 24 with a special event at The InterContinental Kansas City at the Plaza. The exclusive gathering will be held from 7-9 p.m. CT to raise awareness and funding for The Victory Project, which unites Sporting KC supporters, players and staff to make a tangible difference in the lives of children battling cancer. SEVEN ACADEMY PLAYERS SIGN NATIONAL LETTERS OF INTENT
Seven players on the Sporting KC Academy U-18 team will continue their soccer careers across college campuses this fall. Last Wednesday, Feb. 3, marked the initial signing date for prospective student-athletes and the following Academy products have committed to collegiate programs: Will Little (North Carolina State), Ryan Kellogg (West Virginia), Absalom Solorio (Niagara), Logan Lucas (West Virginia), John Leisman (Yale), Andrew McLeod (Northwestern) and Dakota Karns (Missouri State). SKC ACADEMY GOES UNBEATEN IN TRIPLEHEADER
The Sporting KC Academy U-18s, U-16s and U-14s resumed action in the U.S. Soccer Development Academy on Sunday, earning two wins and a draw against the Colorado Rush in Hays, Kansas. (Full story)


DIA AND HALLISEY TO APPEAR AT YOUTH FUTSAL CHAMPIONSHIPS
Sporting KC players Amadou Dia and Connor Hallisey will appear at the 2016 U.S. Youth Futsal National Championships from 4-5:30 p.m. CT on Saturday at the New Century Fieldhouse in New Century, Kansas (551 New Century Pkwy.).
