Haiti falls 7-1 to Brazil in Copa America Centenario

The Haitian Men's National Team suffered a 7-1 defeat to Brazil on Wednesday evening in the Copa America Centenario. The loss is Haiti's second of the tournament (1-0 defeat vs Peru on June 4) and ends any chances of advancing out of the group stage.

Brazil controlled the match from the start and built a 3-0 lead at halftime behind a first brace from Coutinho and Renato Augusto's 35th minute strike. In the second half, Haiti tallied their first goal of the tournament in the 70th minute when James Marcelin pounced on a rebound. Brazil responded with two late second half goals including Coutinho's third of the match, a spectacular curling strike from outside the box.

Sporting KC midfielder Soni Mustivar, currently with the Haiti squad, did not feature in Wednesday's defeat. The Grenadiers close out Copa America Centenario on Sunday against South American south Ecuador at 5:30 p.m. CT on FS2, Univision, and Univision Deportes Network.
