C.F. Pachuca has announced their travel roster for Tuesday’s preseason match against Santos Laguna at Children’s Mercy Park. Great seats are still available for the match and can be purchased at Ticketmaster.com or by calling 888-4KC-GOAL or at the Children’s Mercy Park Box Office tonight or on Tuesday.
Pachuca are the reigning LigaMX champions after defeating Monterrey 2-1 on aggregate in the Clausura playoff. Los Tuzos are six-time league champions and four time champions of the CONCACAF Champions’ Cup / Champions League.
Tuesday’s roster features seven players who played against Monterrey in the championship series last month including U.S. international Omar Gonzalez. The Texas native won three MLS Cups and two Supporters’ Shields with the LA Galaxy before making a move to Pachuca in the offseason. Gonzalez has 31 caps for the U.S. MNT and featured alongside Sporting KC captain Matt Besler at the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.
Other notable inclusions on Pachuca’s roster are Oscar Perez and Franco Jara. Perez made seven saves in the final match against Monterrey and has made 117 appearances for Los Tuzos since joining the club on loan in 2013. Perez has made more than 50 appearances for the Mexico national team and started all four matches for El Tri at the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa.
Jara has led Pachuca in scoring the past two seasons with 14 combined goals. The Argentine striker scored the long goal in Pachuca’s 1-0 win over Monterrey in the first league of the LigaMX Clausura championship.
