ESPNFC Survey: Benny Feilhaber among most wanted PK takers

Benny Feilhaber PK - Sporting KC vs San Jose Earthquakes - October 23, 2016

The people have spoken. In an anonymous survey among MLS players conducted by ESPNFC, Benny Feilhaber was selected second among MLS players to take a penalty kick with their life on the line. Eight percent of MLS players selected Feilhaber with one saying:

"Benny Feilhaber. He's just calm, he's confident. Not to say he can't ever miss, but I like him as a player, and he's filled with confidence. If my life is on the line, I'd like someone with a lot of confidence stepping up to the spot."

Feilhaber is a perfect 13-13 from the penalty spot over the past two years in all competitions. Toronto FC striker Giovinco ranked first in the poll with 15% of the votes. Giovinco is 7-9 from the spot over the past two years including a missed penalty kick on Saturday's season opener against Real Salt Lake.

Also in the ESPNFC survey, Children's Mercy Park was voted the stadium with the third best home support. CenturyLink Field in Seattle and Providence Park in Portland were one and two. According to one MLS player:

"Kansas City. You can feel the atmosphere in there, that they're behind the team. I don't know if it's because the fans are so close to the field."

Children's Mercy Park currently has an 87-match sellout streak dating back to April 2012. Limited tickets are available for the 2017 home opener against FC Dallas. The match will kick off Saturday night at 8 p.m. CT.
