MLS on national TV: Sporting KC headlines three-game set in Week 6

MLS on National TV - Week 6

For the second straight weekend, Sporting Kansas City highlights the national television slate in Major League Soccer.

Three games fit the national bill in Week 6, with Sporting KC and the Colorado Rapids rounding out the action Sunday night at Childrenā€™s Mercy Park. We take a glance at each matchup below.

D.C. United vs. New York City FC | 3 p.m. CT Saturday, Facebook Live and UniMas

When these two teams met on March 12, New York City FC (2-1-1, 7 points) ran riot behind David Villaā€™s two goals and claimed a 4-0 victory. Villa has scored six times in as many career appearances against D.C., and if United (1-2-1, 4 points) wants to build off of last weekendā€™s 2-0 win over the Philadelphia Union, theyā€™ll have to slow down the leagueā€™s reigning MVP this time around. This match will stream live in English on the Univision Deportes Facebook page.

Orlando City SC vs. New York Red Bulls | 3 p.m. CT Sunday, ESPN

After opening the campaign with consecutive wins, Sacha Kljestan and the Red Bulls (2-2-1, 7 points) have scrapped just a point from their last three matches heading into Sundayā€™s road test at the new Orlando City Stadium. Cyle Larin and the Lions (2-1-0, 6 points) also won two on the trot before falling 2-0 in Columbus last Saturday. Buckle up for a potential goal fest, as the sides have combined to score 18 times in five previous meetings.

Sporting KC vs. Colorado Rapids | 6 p.m. CT Sunday, FS1

Something has to give when these longtime rivals square off Sunday evening. Sporting KC (1-0-3, 6 points) is unbeaten in 11 straight regular season home games, one shy of equaling a club record, but Colorado has won five straight in the series. Tickets for the match are available at SeatGeek.com, including a limited-time Family 4 Pack consisting of four tickets, four hot dogs, four Coca-Cola products and four bags of chips.
