Rangers to play USL home matches at Children’s Mercy Park for remainder of 2018 season

Children's Mercy Park - empty, sunny

The Swope Park Rangers announced Tuesday that Children’s Mercy Park will host the remainder of the club’s home matches during the 2018 USL season.

The Rangers will honor all season tickets and single-game tickets previously purchased for home matches at Shawnee Mission South District Stadium. The club’s full home schedule is listed below.

Tickets for each the Rangers’ 15 remaining home matches this season, starting as low as $9, are available by contacting Jon Valentine at 816-949-1190 (jvalentine@sportingkc.com). In addition, students can purchase single-game SPR tickets for $5 by showing their student ID at the Children's Mercy Park box office prior to kickoff. Season ticket and group ticket packages featuring discounted prices and exclusive benefits are also available. Ticket holders can contact their Client Services Representative for more information.

Led by head coach and former Sporting KC midfielder Paulo Nagamura, the Rangers will return to Children’s Mercy Park on Saturday to host rivals Saint Louis FC at 7:30 p.m. CT. The first 500 fans in attendance will receive a free USL Western Conference Champions T-shirt.

The Rangers are 3-0-2 all-time at Children’s Mercy Park, including a 1-0 win over Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC earlier this month. The stadium also hosted SPR’s inaugural game — a 2-1 victory over Portland Timbers 2 on March 26, 2016 — as well as the 2017 USL Western Conference Championship, which saw the Rangers defeat OKC Energy FC in a penalty shootout following a scoreless draw last November.
