National TV: Two games highlight Week 19 slate in MLS

Another scintillating weekend of soccer is about to unfold.

On Friday and Saturday at 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. CT, respectively, the 2018 FIFA World Cup quarterfinals will take place in Russia.

At 7:30 p.m. CT on Saturday night, Sporting Kansas City will play host to reigning MLS Cup and Supporters' Shield champion Toronto FC at Children's Mercy Park. A limited number of tickets for the highly anticipated showdown are available via SeatGeek.com, while those watching away from Children's Mercy Park can catch the action on FOX Sports Kansas City, FOX Sports Midwest Plus and FOX Sports GO.

Then there's the nationally televised MLS double-dip on FS1, which begins Saturday at 10 p.m. CT when Los Angeles Football Club welcomes Orlando City SC to Banc of California Stadium. The follow day, another Hudson River Derby awaits as New York City FC hosts the New York Red Bulls at 6 p.m. CT.

Both of these matches will carry significance to Sporting KC fans who keep a close eye on the MLS standings. Third-place LAFC is a point behind second-place Sporting KC in the West, while the New York Red Bulls are tied with Manager Peter Vermes' men for third place in the MLS Supporters' Shield standings. Sporting KC will visit Red Bull Arena next Saturday, July 14, for a marquee matchup between two of the league's best teams.
