“Digital First Friday” invites fans to share art on new Sporting KC app with select works to be showcased at Children’s Mercy Park

Want to have your Sporting Kansas City artwork prominently showcased at world-class Children’s Mercy Park?

Here’s your chance.

“Digital First Friday” has officially launched on the new Sporting KC app, available for free download on the App Store and Google Play. With fans unable to congregate for First Friday in the Crossroads Arts District, Sporting is bringing the popular arts event straight to supporters’ smartphones.

This unique mobile experience is open to artists of all ages and skill levels, giving fans the opportunity to submit photos of their Sporting-themed artwork into the app in either the “Junior” or “Advanced” categories. As photos are added to both categories, participants will be able to scroll through other submissions and vote for their favorite art. Voting is now open and will close on Friday, May 8.

So, how will contest be decided? At least 30 participants in the Junior division will be randomly selected as winners, while the fan vote will determine the single winner of the Advanced division. The winning artworks will then be displayed at Children’s Mercy Park.

All right, Sporting fans—what are you waiting for? Gather your markers, paintbrushes, pottery, building blocks and anything else you can craft into a Sporting Kansas City masterpiece. Once your artwork is complete, capture an image, submit it through the Sporting KC app and start casting your votes.
