May 20th vs New England Revolution
Sergeant Chuck Cleghorn

Retired Sergeant Chuck Cleghorn, his wife Denise and service dog Boomie were the May 20th military family of the game. Joining the Cleghorns on the field were representatives of the Military Warriors Support Foundation and its sponsors, including, Michelle Morales and Jeff Barnard of Walmart, Mark Romero and Todd Roberts of the Dr. Pepper Snapple Group, Gary Jankowitz of Bank of America and Tammy Levalley from The Military Warriors Support Foundation.

A member of the 1st Infantry Division’s combat aviation brigade stationed at Fort Riley, Kansas, Sergeant Cleghorn served numerous tours of duty during his fifteen years of service in both the reserves and on active duty. Awarded numerous medals during his time in the service, Sergeant Cleghorn was wounded in 2010 at the end of his fourth deployment. While it is our custom to honor the military before every game, this evening’s ceremony had an added feature. As a part of thanking service men and women for their sacrifice, the Military Warriors Support Foundation makes it possible for families like the Cleghorns to receive a full-renovated house that is 100% mortgage free. That evening, Tammy Levalley from the Foundation presented a ceremonial key to the Cleghorns, who will be receiving a home in michigan so that he can continue his recovery close to his family.
