Career Summary

2016: Played in 26 regular-season games, starting 24, posting two assists. Recorded his first USL assist against Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2 on June 12 before adding the game-winning assist against former side LA Galaxy II on Aug. 27. Meyer was named to the bench of the USL Team of the Week for Week 3. Made two appearances, both starts, in the USL Cup Playoffs before being sent off in the Western Conference Semifinal against Orange County Blues FC that saw him issued a six-game suspension.

2015: Made 12 appearances in all competitions for the LA Galaxy, including six in the MLS regular season. Meyer started and played the full 90 minutes in each of the Galaxy’s four Group D games in the CONCACAF Champions League as the side went unbeaten to advance to the knockout stage. He made two appearances in the U.S. Open Cup, helping the club to Fourth and Fifth Round victories, while he played in seven games for LA Galaxy II in the USL – including all four games in the USL Playoffs. In the summer, Meyer played in two friendly games in the International Champions Cup, playing against Club America on July 11 before scoring the Galaxy’s only goal in a 2-1 loss to Barcelona on July 21.

2014: Set career-highs with 12 appearances in the MLS regular season, including 10 starts. He made his season debut against Chivas USA on April 6 before starting nine out of 10 games between May 18 and July 20, helping the side to a 5-2-2 record in that time. Meyer played in two games in the MLS Cup Playoffs, and LA went 9-2-3 in regular-season and postseason play when Meyer appeared as he helped his side claim their second MLS Cup in three seasons with an extra-time victory over New England on Dec. 7. He made one appearance in the U.S. Open Cup while he also played in five games for LA Galaxy II in the USL.

2013: Played in 11 games in all competitions for the Galaxy, including seven appearances in the MLS regular season. Meyer made his season debut at FC Dallas on April 14 and earned his first start a month later at the Philadelphia Union on May 16. He played one game in the U.S. Open Cup and also started three games for the Galaxy in the CONCACAF Champions League.

2012: Made 19 appearances in all competitions after being drafted in the first round (19th overall) of the 2012 MLS SuperDraft by the LA Galaxy. Meyer made his debut for the club in LA’s home opener against Real Salt Lake on March 11 and went on to make seven further appearances in the MLS regular season. With AJ DeLaGarza and Omar Gonzalez injured ahead of the MLS Cup Playoffs, Meyer played every minute, recording an assist in the second leg of the Western Conference Semifinals against the San Jose Earthquakes on Nov. 7. He played the full 90 minutes at center back as the Galaxy went on to claim MLS Cup with a 3-1 win against the Houston Dynamo on Dec. 1. He also made one appearance in the U.S. Open Cup and played in four games in the CONCACAF Champions League – scoring his first professional goal with the game-winner against the Puerto Rico Islanders on Aug. 30.

International: Meyer was a member of the U.S. Under-17 Residency Program held in Bradenton, Florida in 2005 and 2006. He then made three appearances in the 2007 FIFA U-17 World Cup, coming against Tunisia on Aug. 23, Belgium on Aug. 26 and Germany on Aug. 30. Meyer would go on to represent the U.S. at Under-20 level in 2008.

College: Meyer made 81 appearances for Indiana University, recording 10 assists. He was named to the Big Ten All-Freshman Team and the College Soccer News All-Freshman second team in his first year with the Hoosiers. Meyer was then an All-Big Ten second team selection as a junior before being named on the All-Big Ten first team in his final year at Indiana.
