Sporting KC selects two midfielders in 2016 MLS SuperDraft
Sporting KC selected Bowling Green State University midfielder Ryan James (No. 52 overall) and Saint Louis University midfielder Faik Hajderovic (No. 72 overall) in the final two rounds of the 2016 MLS SuperDraft on Tuesday. James and Hajderovic comprise Sporting KC’s 2016 draft class after the club traded its first-round pick to D.C. United last Thursday in exchange for Targeted Allocation Money. Sporting KC did not hold a second-round pick in the 2016 draft. (Full story)


Sporting KC to depart Saturday for preseason in Tucson
For the first time in 2016, Sporting KC players and coaches will assemble this week to begin the club's preseason, presented by Children's Mercy. Sporting KC will spend both phases of preseason in Tucson, Arizona, first reporting from Jan. 23 - Feb. 8 and then returning from Feb. 14-27 for the Desert Diamond Cup.


Swope Park Rangers sign Mark Anthony Gonzalez
The Swope Park Rangers have signed forward Mark Anthony Gonzalez, the club announced on Wednesday. The addition brings the number of players on the roster to 11 as the Rangers prepare to open their preseason camp next month. (Full story)


Sporting KC garners honors at 2015 MLS Club Executive Awards
Sporting KC and its employees garnered several honors on Thursday during Major League Soccer’s 2015 Club Executive Awards Ceremony, held at the Hyatt Regency Baltimore in conjunction with the 2016 MLS SuperDraft. The year-end awards commend individuals and clubs for outstanding contributions off the field. SKC Academy launches Centers of Excellence programs for U-9 and U-11
Sporting KC announced on Tuesday the launch of Centers of Excellence (COE) programs for the Boy's U-9 and U-11 age groups. The Centers of Excellence programs are designed to enhance a player’s overall foundation prior to entering the Sporting KC Academy as well as serve as a tool to identify players to join the Academy program. Children's Mercy Park to host two job fairs
Children's Mercy Park will host two job fairs to hire part-time event staff employees for the 2016 season. The job fairs will be held Saturday from 9 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. and next Tuesday, Jan. 26, from 5:30-9 p.m. in the Ameritas Shield Club at Children's Mercy Park (One Sporting Way, Kansas City, Kansas). Several departments will be interviewing for part-time positions, including Guest Services, Parking Operations, Building Services, Sporting Style and Legends Hospitality. Applicants must be at least 18 years old.
