The Sporting Kansas City U16 and U18 Academy teams will host Colorado Rush on Saturday at the Sporting Club Training Center in Swope Park. The U.S. Soccer Development Academy matches are the final matches of the 21-game 2011-12 season for both squads.
The U18s (3-7-3, 7-10-3) will open the doubleheader at 11:30am and will be up against a Rush side that is 7-5-1 in conference and tied for third place in the Frontier Division. In the last meeting between the two teams, the Rush collected three points with a 2-0 win on goals from Joshua Mascolo and Matt Marchena.
The U16s (3-4-6, 5-6-9) will kick off at 2:00pm as they attempt to win the season series between the two sides. They drew 1-1 in the previous meeting and the teams are separated by just four points in the Frontier Division standings.
Both matches are free and open to the public. The Sporting Club Training Center in Swope Park is located at 6310 Lewis Rd. in Kansas City, MO.
