Kempin with OKC Energy FC

Sporting KC has partnered with USL PRO clubs Orlando City SC and OKC Energy FC for the 2014 season. As part of the agreement, Sporting KC will loan players to the clubs to play games and gain experience throughout the year. Each week, we’ll recap the performances of the Sporting KC players on loan.

Homegrown goalkeeper Jon Kempin posted his second straight USL PRO clean sheet as OKC Energy FC and the Rochester Rhinos played to a scoreless draw Sunday night in Oklahoma City. Jimmy Nielsen's squad has not lost in five league matches and remains ninth in the USL PRO standings (4-7-3, 15 points), one spot out of the playoff picture.

Rochester (6-4-6, 24 points) outshot Energy FC 11-8, but Kempin kept the Rhinos off the scoreboard with two saves, including a point-blank stop to deny Jossimar Sanchez in the 41st minute.

Midfielder Mikey Lopez played the full 90 minutes, registering one shot and commiting two fouls.

Energy FC hosts Sacramento Republic FC on Saturday night in the third match of a six-game homestand at Pribil Stadium.
