Aly Trost Martin introduced as new play-by-play voice for Sporting KC radio broadcasts in 2023

Aly Trost Martin will be the new play-by-play voice of Sporting KC for radio broadcasts during the 2023 season, the club announced on Friday.

Trost Martin has covered the club for Sports Radio 810 WHB since 2019 and served as the team’s sideline reporter from 2021-2022. In addition, Trost Martin has served as a national play-by-play announcer and sideline reporter for NWSL matches on Paramount+ and CBS Sports Network. Most recently, Trost Martin was in the broadcast booth calling play-by-play for the SheBelieves Cup 2023 on HBO Max.

Trost Martin will be joined on Sporting KC radio broadcasts by analyst Jacob Peterson with additional guest analysts over the course of the season. Peterson, a 12-year MLS veteran including five years with Sporting KC, has called Sporting matches each of the last three seasons and joined the club’s technical staff in 2022.

New in 2023 as part of MLS Season Pass on Apple TV, fans in the U.S. and Canada will have the option to select the radio broadcast audio for Sporting KC home matches.

Major League Soccer and Apple announced on Wednesday the addition of Nate Bukaty to the roster of MLS Season Pass play-by-play personalities. Bukaty served as the lead commentator for Sporting Kansas City since 2015 in addition to play-by-play duties for MLS and international soccer matches on FOX Sports since 2018.

Led by Manager Peter Vermes, Sporting will begin the highly anticipated 2023 campaign on the road against the Portland Timbers at 9 p.m. CT on Monday. The season opener will be broadcast live for free on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV.

Sporting Kansas City’s home schedule begins March 11 against the LA Galaxy at Children’s Mercy Park.
