Sporting Kansas City is back at Children’s Mercy Park for a match against the New York Red Bulls on Sunday, July 3 at 7 p.m. CT. After three straight weeks of national broadcasts, the match will air on 38 The Spot and is available to stream at SportingKC.com or in the Sporting KC mobile app.

Coming off a stretch of three matches in six days in which Sporting advanced to the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup Semifinals and beat Nashville on the road, Children’s Mercy Park will host an MLS match for the first time in over two weeks. The Red Bulls are currently tied for first in the Eastern Conference but occupy the second spot due to tiebreakers. Thursday, they defeated Atlanta United 2-1 in come-from-behind fashion, scoring two goals after the 80th minute.

Below we provide a statistical preview of Sporting Kansas City’s Sunday night match against the New York Red Bulls.

  • Sporting are 4-1-1 against New York in the last six meetings across all competitions.
  • Sporting won the most recent meeting, prevailing 2-1 at Red Bull Arena in Week 1 of the 2021 MLS campaign.
