Injury Report is SportingKC.com’s look at the latest injury news ahead of upcoming matches and is presented by The Sports Medicine Center at Children's Mercy. All injuries listed are from the teams' official injury reports submitted midweek.
Sporting Kansas City enters tonight’s matchup with the Colorado Rapids at Children's Mercy Park with three names on the injury report.
Winger Gerso Fernandes has been upgraded to questionable, having missed last weekend's game against the New England Revolution with a thigh contusion. A head injury will sideline goalkeeper Adrian Zendejas for the second straight match, and midfielder Felipe Gutierrez will miss the next two to three months after undergoing successful sports hernia surgery on Tuesday.
The Rapids, meanwhile, will be without two players who regularly started in 2017. Defender Kortne Ford has yet to play this season due to an MCL sprain, and versatile midfielder Marlon Hairston remains out after having successful surgery on his right knee last month.
Kickoff for tonight’s match is set for 7:30 p.m. CT, and a limited number of tickets are available via SeatGeek.com. FOX Sports Kansas City and FOX Sports Midwest Plus will televise three hours of live coverage beginning at 7 p.m. CT, while Sports Radio 810 WHB (English) and ESPN Deportes 1480 AM (Spanish) will carry the game on the radio.
