Jemal Johnson on Trial with Wizards

American-born striker Jemal Johnson is on trial with the Wizards.

American-born striker Jemal Johnson, a former member of Manchester United's academy, is currently on trial with the Kansas City Wizards. Johnson, 25, scored 11 goals in 89 games for Milton Keynes Dons from 2007-2010, helping the club climb from League 2 to League 1 in the process. Johnson went on loan to Stockport County (League 1) for the first part of 2010 and has since been freed by MK Dons to search for a new club. Johnson was on trial with D.C. United last week.

Johnson was born in Paterson, New Jersey before moving with his family to Macclesfield, England at five years old. Johnson moved through the Manchester United youth program until 2001 when he switched to the academy of fellow Premier League club Blackburn Rovers. He made his first appearance for Blackburn in 2005 and moved to Preston North End on loan later that year. After a stint on loan at Darlington, Johnson transfered to Wolverhamption Wanderers of the League Championship in 2006.

Johnson went on loan to Leeds United in 2007 before joining MK Dons. Johnson has predominately played as an outside midfielder or striker throughout his career.
