Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City and Sporting KC named Melisa Robinson, a sixth grade English Language Arts teacher at Maple Park Middle School, the Blue KC Sporting Samaritan for the month of June.

Melisa just finished her twelfth year of teaching and has spent the last three years at Maple Park. Melisa loves working with kids and sharing her passion for learning while motivating and creating a desire for students to become lifelong learners! She serves as a mentor and loves to see a student’s eyes light up with excitement once they’ve mastered a new skill! The best advice she passes along to her students is that each day is a new day to start over again!

Melisa was formally recognized on the field at the Sporting KC game on June 19, 2016.
