Sporting Kansas City goalkeeper Jon Kempin is a nominee for Best Save of the CONCACAF Champions League Group Stage. The homegrown goalkeeper reacted quickly to stop Juan Barrera's 81st-minute volley in a 1-1 road draw at Estadio Independencia on August 19.
The save was one of two for Kempin in his CONCACAF Champions League debut. Kempin has featured five times in all competitions for Sporting KC this year including four in MLS play.

Sporting Kansas City will resume their Champions League campaign next week when they host Deportivo Saprissa at Sporting Park on Thursday, Sept. 18. The match will kick off at 7 p.m. CT and will be broadcast nationally on FOX Sports 1. Limited tickets are available and can be purchased at Ticketmaster.com or by calling 888-4KC-GOAL.
Saprissa currently leads Group 2 with four points. Real Esteli is in second place with two points and Sporting KC rounds out the group with one point having played only one of their four group stage matches.
