Krisztian Nemeth features for Hungarian national team in international friendly

Fresh off a terrific start to the MLS season - including an MLS Player of the Month award for May - Sporting KC striker Krisztian Nemeth featured for the Hungarian national team in Friday's 4-0 win over Lithuania. The appearance was Nemeth's first for the Magyar's since October 2013.


Hungary scored early and often on Friday with the home side getting on the board in the 15th minute through Zoltán Stieber. Balázs Dzsudzsák and Nemanja Nikolić tallied moments later, while Tamás Priskin closed the scoring in the 30th minute. Nemeth came off the bench to play the final 45 minutes of the match to help his squad the secure the victory.


Hungary will now turn their attention to next week's UEFA Euro 2016 qualifying match against Finland in Helsinki. Halfway through the qualifying stage, Hungary currently sits in third place of Group F, behind Romania and Northern Ireland.


Friday was Nemeth's 16th cap for Hungary. He debuted in 2010 and most recently represented his country in 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifying.
