Since the start of the 2012 season on March 10th, Sporting Kansas City has played 14 competitive matches (12 MLS, 2 USOC) in a span off 88 days. That's a comfortable pace of one match every 6.29 days.
That's about to change. And in a hurry.
Saturday's match against Toronto FC will see the club embark upon a dash of five games in 14 days, or one competitive contest per every 2.8 days. Here's whats on the docket for the final two weeks of June:

- Wed., June 20 at Seattle Sounders FC
- Sat., June 23 at Philadelphia Union
- Tues., June 26 vs Dayton Dutch Lions* (tickets)
- Fri., June 29 vs Chicago Fire (tickets)

Look further on the fixture list and Saturday is the start of a stretch in which the club plays seven games in 22 days (one per every 3.125 days). Advance to the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup semifinals on July 10 and it sets the stage for as many as 11 games over the course of the next 36 days (one per every 3.273 days).
Suffice to say, there's no reprieve in sight. It's for times like these that the old athletics axiom applies most: take it one game at a time.
