MARCH | BLUE KC SPORTING SAMARITAN:
Bhavish Dinakar, Senior, Shawnee Mission East High School
|
This season Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City (Blue KC) and Sporting KC are teaming up to recognize students and teachers dedicated to making Kansas City a great place to live, work and play. Each month we will recognize a Blue KC Sporting Samaritan
To kick off the season, Blue KC and Sporting KC named Shawnee Mission East senior Bhavish Dinakar the Blue KC Sporting Samaritan for the month of March. Not only is Bhavish a National Merit Semifinalist; he is member of the Debate team that took first place at state. Being a whiz at Chemistry, he teaches an after school chemistry class, and is the creator of his own YouTube channel to help other Chem students along the way. Bhavish is a trained classical and jazz violinist and pianist as well as a member of the Midwest Chamber Ensemble. He shares his love of music by collecting used guitars to donate to veterans to help them recover from wartime trauma through music therapy. His work has landed him an Eagle Scout honor and offered him numerous opportunities to work collectively to help fellow students and those in our community. Please join us in congratulating Bhavish! Thanks for all that you do to make Kansas City great!
Bhavish was formally recognized on the field at the Sporting KC home opener on March 12, 2016. To learn more about the Blue KC Sporting Samaritan program visit sportingkc.com.
