MLS WORKS selects Community MVP finalists

MLS WORKS selects Community MVP finalists -

Each year, MLS WORKS teams up with Wells Fargo to help honor individuals who have helped their community. One Community MVP is chosen from each of the 20 MLS club markets based on their efforts in social programs, health issues and community service. This year’s finalist for Sporting Kansas City is Renee Terrill.

Terrill - a volunteer with Oceans of Mercy and One Life -- serves on the Board of Directors and Advisory Task Force for each organization. She has made the ultimate commitment to serving the less fortunate across the world and believes “the impact of soccer can transform lives of young people all over the world.”

Each year, Renee travels internationally to places like South Africa, India and Thailand with gently used soccer equipment to facilitate soccer clinics, camps and tournaments run by local and Kansas City volunteers. These events are used not only to promote play and fun amongst the kids they serve, but Renee also teaches life lessons such as sportsmanship, respect and self-confidence.

Fans can vote here until July 29. Each of the Community MVP's will be recognized at the 2015 MLS All-Star Game at Dick's Sporting Goods Park in Colorado on July 29. The overall winner will be announced during halftime of the 2015 MLS All-Star Game.
