National TV: Two matches highlight Week 2 slate in MLS

It's safe to say Sporting Kansas City fans will have their eyes firmly set on Saturday's match against the Chicago Fire at 5 p.m. CT on FOX Sports Kansas City and FOX Sports Midwest Plus. But as Major League Soccer turns the page to Week 2, a pair of compelling matches bookend Sporting KC's road test at Toyota Park.

The action begins Saturday at 2:30 p.m. CT when upstart Real Salt Lake hosts expansion side Los Angeles Football Club, fresh off a momentous 1-0 away win at Seattle Sounders FC last weekend. The Western Conference battle at Rio Tinto Stadium will air live on Univision as RSL looks to carry momentum into 2018 following a strong finish to 2017.

Soccer Sunday presents a marquee matchup in the Eastern Conference, with Atlanta United FC welcoming D.C. United to Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Atlanta enjoyed a terrific inaugural MLS campaign last year as the likes of Josef Martinez and Miguel Almiron paced the club to 70 regular-season goals, but the Five Stripes are coming off a humbling 4-0 defeat at Houston in Week 1. D.C. United, meanwhile, earned a 1-1 draw at Orlando City SC last Saturday behind a goal from Yamil Asad, who tallied seven goals and 13 assist for Atlanta in 2017.
