NBC Sports Network to nationally televise regular season finale

(Oct. 16, 2012) -- Sporting Kansas City’s regular season finale on Oct. 24 against the Philadelphia Union at LIVESTRONG Sporting Park will be nationally broadcast on the NBC Sports Network, the club announced Tuesday. The match, sponsored by Garmin, will be shown live on KSMO-TV in Kansas City with Callum Williams and Jake Yadrich providing commentary and the NBC Sports Network broadcast will be blacked out in the local viewing area.
Four Sporting Kansas City home matches have been shown on the NBC Sports Network already this season, including each of the team’s last two matches at state-of-the-art LIVESTRONG Sporting Park. With the addition of the Oct. 24 match, Sporting Kansas City will have been featured on U.S. national television nine times – all at LIVESTRONG Sporting Park – during the 2012 season.
The Philadelphia Union will visit LSP for the first time in 2012 on Oct. 24. The teams have met twice this season at PPL Park, with the Union earning a 4-0 victory in the MLS regular season on June 23 and Sporting KC recording a 2-0 win in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup semifinals on July 11.
A limited number of tickets are available for the match and can be purchased online at Ticketmaster.com or at the LSP Box Offices. Sporting Kansas City, in first place in the Eastern Conference and assured of a berth in the MLS Cup Playoffs, will close out the regular season with several special promotions for fans in attendance. During the player introductions, 18 current Season Ticket Members will be randomly selected and matched with a Sporting KC player on the gameday roster to receive their game-worn uniform. All ticket holders can also take advantage of a sale at Sporting Style for buy one jersey, get one jersey 50% off at all merchandise locations inside the stadium.
Additionally, Sporting Kansas City has partnered with Harvesters Community Food Network to co-host a food drive at the match. Collection barrels will be located at all LSP entrances and fans  that donate five or more canned food items will be entered in a raffle. Five winners will be randomly selected to take part in a post-game meet and greet with a Sporting KC player on the field after the match.
