New edition of Behind the Shield presented by Audi provides all-access look at away day in Austin

New in 2024, Behind the Shield presented by Audi will be available after every match this season with the video series - produced by Sporting Kansas City's full-time digital storytellers - providing fans with an immersive viewing experience highlighted by exclusive interviews and all-access footage from Sporting Kansas City players, trainings and matchdays.

This week's BTS captures the sights and sounds from the club's 3-2 loss at Austin FC last Saturday with a special spotlight on midfielder Memo Rodriguez, who recorded his team-leading fourth assist of the season in the match.

"It's just a matter of everybody's mentality and getting back to that culture where we're hard to beat," Rodriguez said. "Football is about new opportunities and new challenges. We have one Saturday. The games are coming quick so we have got to be up for the challenge."

Sporting Kansas City will continue a stretch of five matches in 15 days as the team returns to the road for a Western Conference clash against the Portland Timbers at 9:30 p.m. CT on Saturday at Providence Park in Oregon.

Saturday's showdown will stream live on Apple TV for MLS Season Pass subscribers and local radio coverage will be available on Sports Radio 810 WHB and La Grande 1340 AM. In addition, Pub Partners in the Sporting Pub Network will also show all of the action including the club's official watch party at the J. Rieger & Co. Distillery (2700 Guinotte Rd.) in Kansas City, Missouri. Cocktail specials will begin at 8:30 p.m. on Saturday and fans can enter to win tickets and signed merchandise during the event.
