Sporting Kansas City goalkeeper Jimmy Nielsen was announced on Friday as the winner of MLS Save of the Week for Week 21.

Nielsen received nearly 66% of all votes on MLSSoccer.com for his back-to-back stops in the 69th minute of Sporting Kansas City's match against the Seattle Sounders last Saturday. After denying Mike Fucito's shot from the center of the penalty area, Nielsen made a lunging kick-save at the near post with his left foot to keep out Lamar Neagle's follow-up effort.

Nielsen, an MLS All-Star selection during his inaugural MLS season last year in which he won Save of the Week a League-high six times, also won Save of the Week in Week 19 of the 2011 season for his stop on Toronto's Danny Koevermans in the 3rd minute.
