By The Numbers: Sporting KC vs. New England Revolution - May 20, 2015

Graham Zusi - Sporting KC at New England Revolution - September 3, 2014

Sporting Kansas City (3-2-5, 14 pts.) will play their 100th match at Sporting Park on Wednesday when they host 2014 MLS Cup finalists New England Revolution (5-2-4, 19 pts.) at 7 p.m. CT. The game will be televised nationally on ESPN2 and ESPN Deportes with local radio broadcasts on Sports Radio 810 WHB and La Grande 1340 AM.

Sporting KC is 3-0-2 against Eastern Conference opposition this year and will seek redemption against a New England side that swept the three-game regular season series in 2014, including a 3-2 result at Sporting Park on Sept. 26. The Revolution enter Wednesday on a nine-game unbeaten run, three shy of a club record, after losing their opening two fixtures of the season.

While Dom Dwyer and Krisztian Nemeth lead Sporting KC with three goals each, scoring has been widespread for Peter Vermes’ side: seven different players have found the back of the net, tied for second most in MLS. Similarly, New England boasts perhaps the most balanced attack in MLS: the Revs have a different statistical leader for goals (Charlie Davies), assists (Scott Caldwell), shots (Lee Nguyen), shots on goal (Kelyn Rowe), and game-winning goals (Teal Bunbury).
