Sporting Kansas City forward Omar Bravo has suffered a sports hernia injury and preliminary reports expect him to be out for 3-6 weeks. Bravo, 31 and the club’s second-ever designated player, was named MLS Player of the Week after scoring two goals in the season-opening 3-2 win at Chivas USA.

He last played the first half in Sporting KC’s 1-0 win over the Houston Dynamo in a Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup qualifying game on Wednesday. Sporting Kansas City has this weekend off and will return to action on April 16th at the Columbus Crew.
