United Fitness Partners, a leading Planet Fitness franchisee group currently operating nearly 20 clubs in the Kansas City area, announced a partnership with The Victory Project and Sporting KC to host a 5K run this Spring in the Kansas City area.
The event, Victory Run x Planet Fitness 5K, will take place May 9th at Sporting Park in Kansas City, KS where race entrants will receive a medal, t-shirt, and custom bib. Proceeds from donations and registrations will support the Victory Project’s mission to improve the lives of children with cancer and offer inclusive soccer opportunities for youth with disabilities or limited financial resources
The Victory Run x Planet Fitness 5K will raise funds to further the organization’s mission, which includes providing a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for kids fighting cancer to experience a VIP weekend with Sporting Kansas City as Gameday Honorees.
"Through the support of community partners like Planet Fitness, The Victory Project and Sporting KC have had the privilege of honoring over 250 gameday honorees,” said Victory Project Senior Director Chioma Atanmo. “The Victory Run is more than a 5K, it’s a chance to rally our community around a shared purpose, expand our reach, and continue delivering meaningful experiences to the kids we serve.”
In the weeks leading up to the May 9th event, Planet Fitness has created a free training plan specifically tailored for non-runners to train for a 5k in four weeks. Members can sign up for the four-week training plan online or in one of the Planet Fitness clubs in Kansas City and surrounding areas.
